Topping off July

August 3, 2016
I wish I had something exciting to discuss, but alas, no excitement til September. Most of July was cuddling with Fitz, although not exciting, his cuddles are very satisfying.

Barre3 Tucson celebrated a bridal shower for our 2 lovely brides, Kate and MacKenna with a yummy brunch at Commoner & Co

Cody and I had some laughs at breakfast at the new Prep & Pastry, and shopping at Target. We also had 2016 family photos done with Fitz, which turned out very well if I do say so myself (watch for your Christmas cards people).

I also got very organized with the help of the Container Store, and an Oh Joy! Instagram post. That's all our excitement here. I know, contain yourselves.

Starting July right

July 14, 2016
I don't want to too far ahead of myself, but I have to say, so far, July is on POINT. I kicked off the month with Beats class with Chelsea and DJ Herm, which is one of my favorite activities. Nate (Kate's soon to be hubby) opened the second location of his brunch restaurant, Prep & Pastry and I was there ALL opening weekend. #thatavocadotoasttho.

The 4th was the first summer holiday I've had off in over a year so I made it count. A few of us took an underground class with (r)evolve, a new spin studio coming to Tucson. Get ready! It's going to be fun! Then we all made our way over to the studio where I took class with Kate and then went home to get ready to have our friend's over to BBQ. We had a lot of fun just being together!

So far, the rest of the week has consisted of lots of work, but I am looking forward to more fun to come this month.

June bug

June 30, 2016
We played the weekend celebrating Kate, but we had some other lovebirds to celebrate this month too. Kate and Garrett got married in East Lansing the first weekend in June. It was amazing to escape the heat of Tucson, for which Fitz got his own pool, to head home to the Mitten for a weekend.

We loved seeing Cody's Shipman friends, and celebrating with them. Kate looked beautiful, and cried her happy tears to be marrying her Garrett. It was magic.

We enjoyed the rest of the month doing summer things, grilling, spending time with friends, biking/barre3-ing. We celebrated Kate's bridal shower, and I received the best gift in the form of pomegranate Jelly Bellies from my girl Amanda. LIFE MADE.

Chelsea and I are currently loving the crazy pant trend that is in right now.

Kate's Clique

June 13, 2016
We started June off strong with Kate's Bachelorette in Scottsdale. In true Kate fashion, her bachelorette party was all about the balance. We drove up Friday morning to take a barre3 class in Scottsdale with our awesome instructor Jessica! We met Kate's mom up there, and had a blast taking class from a different studio. It's always inspiring to take class from someone new!

After class, we did some shopping at Nordstrom and all had luck at their shoe sale. MacKenna and I snuck off to decorate our hotel room for the weekend, and Kate showed up a little later with Vanita.

That night, we had a drink in the bar at our hotel, The Camby and went to dinner at True Food Kitchen which is officially my favorite restaurant ever. I felt good ordering anything off the menu, and it was all delicious.

Saturday morning we got up early to grab coffee before heading to Party on a Bike at the Madison Improvement Club. It was legit. Like, too legit to quit. And the most fun I've had working out since finding barre3. I'm already plotting my return.

We spent the day relaxing, laying by the pool, eating at True Food, AGAIN, and then getting ready for our night out! MacKenna, being the true amazing visionary she is had the foresight to order flower crowns for us to wear out, and it was the most brilliant ever. We had so much fun with them, and we got a ton of compliments.

We went out to dinner at the Henry, and then out on the town. Overall, I think I can safely say we all had a lot of fun, and a lot of laughs. Happy Bachelorette Kate, we love you more than we can ever show you!

May-be I should update!

June 3, 2016
Par the course, I've been bad with updates. SO, we are going to catch up in a few posts. Starting with MAY!

Emily came down from Chicago for a visit, which pretty much consisted of shopping, playing with Pax and Fitz, and barre3. I was super stoked that she was finally able to meet Kate, so my favorite blonde brides-to-be could be together!

Fitz really enjoyed the weather before it started getting too hot. We had some good days at the park, rolling in the clover and coating ourselves in morning dew!

Barre3 Tucson turned 2 years old this month! We celebrated with free classes all day, with snacks and  a lift and sip class in the evening. I cannot say enough about how grateful I am for this beautiful community and the wonderful people it has brought into my life!

Cody went out of town for a bike race, so my friend Ashley and I had a lady weekend, which ended up being a huge blessing as she took a job in San Diego and will be moving soon. We went out to dinner on Saturday night at 47 Scott, one of our favorite Tucson spots, shared some wine and laughs and went to bed early. Sunday we got up to bike downtown again for yoga with our mutual favorite instructor, Stefani Lindsay at Yoga Oasis. Afterward, we grabbed coffee and broke up our bike ride back to the house by stopping at Time Market for a hummus plate. She is an amazing friend and woman, and I always walk away from time together feeling inspired. We kept talking about how much fun we had, and how we should do it more (although I think the magic comes from breaking out of our routine).

I worked Memorial Day at work and was able to introduce my 4NE coworkers to fruit pizza, America edition. I think my friends from home would approve. It wasn't a bad shift, and we had a lot of fun at our potluck!

Whiskey 50- 30 proof edition

May 2, 2016
For the last part of our April adventures, Cody participated in the Whiskey Off Road mountain bike race in Prescott, AZ.  Cody rode the 50 proof, the 50 mile race in 2014 and got snowed on. This year, he decided to ride the 30, which I think he enjoyed a bit more.

His mom flew in from Texas for the race and we picked her up in Phoenix Friday am and continued up to Prescott for the weekend. When we arrived, we grabbed lunch at a coffee shop called Cupper's in town and then headed down to the expo at the center of the action. We did some expo shopping, and Fitz even got a new shirt!

For those of you new to cycling, KOM: King of the Mountain (i.e. you have the fastest time at some section of road/trail somewhere). That night, we watched the pros race in the criterium downtown, and then ate pizza before the race meeting.

Pro Crit
After a good night's sleep we all headed down to watch Cody and Jed take off. After a steady start, Leah and I took Fitz to do some antiquing around Prescott. We even found a new teak mid century coffee table! We got back to the start/finish to see Cody cross the line, and made our way to the beer garden. Cody and Jed refueled slowly and we headed back to the hotel just before it started to rain. We stayed in the hotel the rest of the night as it was pretty chilly up there, and we were all pretty tired.

Sunday we packed up, went downtown to watch the pros take off, and the kids race, and then headed down to Phoenix for a few hours of shopping before Leah went back to Texas.

Cody seemed to have fun, he raced strong, and we all got a lot of great together time. I love watching him in his element with biking, and he is part of a neat community with it out here. I'm excited to watch more!
