Down to Rage

Fun times this last 2 weeks. I've spent so much time with my girlfriends and I am loving every minute of it! Starting with a impromptu roomie evening in which we bopped all over town. We went to the Maverick, Toby Keith and Union! We had so much spending time together, which we don't get to do very often!

Next up was a fun evening with Taylor, Hayley, and Tania at Union. We danced all night!

I spent sometime at various pools over town, a few times with Cara, a few times with my work friend Doug, and a few times with various combos including my friends Teresa, Sarah, and Hayley! So much pool time!

To summarize the rest of the week, I went to happy hour with my friend Maggie, lots of dates with Sarah and Hayley including yoga and lunch, and a lot of bar nights with combos of my various ladies! The rest of the photos show the adventure!

Houston, I think we have a problem

I'm addicted to shopping. Whenever I fly back to the mitten, I spend way too much on clothes and jewelry. This trip was no exception. Between Vegas and Mitten, we celebrated Memorial day with a mini bbq with friends. Then Cody and I flew back to Michigan for the weddings of our friends Nick and Sarah, and Matt and Jennie. Cody was in Nick and Sarah's wedding so he attended the one. However, I was able to make it to both! I was also able to go to lunch and shopping with my mom and Mimi on Friday, and to my cousin Quinn's graduation from high school on Sunday. Needless to say it was a jam packed weekend. Vegas FTW!

Holy VEGAS! What a trip! I'm not sure if I have ever had so much fun! We left on Thursday 5/17 and came back that Sunday. I went for my beautiful friend Cara's bachelorette party with our other friend Hayley. We had a short flight from Phoenix and took a cab to Treasure Island. We explored the town a bit, and my skirt was almost eaten by an escalator before we headed back to the hotel to get ready! That night, we went to Fat Tuesdays to get slushies, needless to say mine was Redbull flavored :). We then went out to Surrender night club at the Wynn after getting gussied up. The club surrounds the pool and was the most gorgeous bar I have ever seen! Unknown to us, LMFAO was playing that night which was amazing! Streamers and confetti were going, everyone was jumping and dancing, it was CRAZY!! Of all our nights there, it was by far my favorite!

We met a group of guys from Chicago reuniting from college, and the next day, we went to the Wet Republic pool party and met up with them for a while.

That night, we met up with Cara's now husband and his best man and went to see the Cirque de Soleil show, Ka, which was great (although I was running off 4 hours sleep over 2 days so I fell asleep for a bit... oops!). We then went to Emeril's for dinner and drinks before heading to Chateau at the Paris hotel for the night. We were dancing our little behinds off when suddenly, a unicorn sighting! Ginuwine, the singer, live!! So amazing!

After another 4 hour nap, we got up and headed to the Rehab pool party at the Hard Rock hotel. Best pool ever! We spent hours at the pool and had to be dragged away! That night, we decided to go back to the Wynn and visit Tryst night club. We had a blast dancing together! Cara and our friend Stacey, who had joined us that morning left to gamble, and Hayley and I stayed out all night! We had such a blast and I cannot wait to go back! Hayley and I have been looking for excuses to celebrate ever since we left! Returning to work was a hard reality!

Mother's Day from afar

Day two of my first two day stretch off in a while feels great, mostly because I spent it doing some of my favorite things. This included going to the farmer's market, laying on the couch, and watching Harry Potter. At this moment, I'm still trying to convince Cody we should watch another one. I just wish i could have spent it with my Mom, doing her favorite things! I get to see her in about two weeks though! Day one off consisted of sleep, dinner at our new favorite restaurant, Wildflower, and going to see the Great Gatsby, which we loved. Pretty much this weekend rocked. The week, meh ;) Lots of working and craziness! I did go shopping for my VEGAS trip which I leave for this Thursday to celebrate my friend Cara's bachelorette party! I need a little get away! 

Last weekend we went to an Egyptian themed party at our friend Keith and Vanessa's to celebrate their new kitten Isis! Needless to say it was a blast and I think the photos speak for themselves.

Post Shift Hangover

Bear with me here, I'm coming off a 12 hour shift, but I'm doing my best to update in a more timely fashion. Today is April 25th! AKA, the PERFECT date (am I right, Ms. Congeniality fans?). Today is a good day! I had a great shift, and got a free breakfast burrito for the opening of TMC's new orthopedic surgical tower! Yum :) After I finish this post, I am going to enter a deep hibernation for approximately 7 hours! Exciting stuff everyone!

Highlights from this week included:

• Lunch with one of new work friends, Christina! 
• New Graduate forum, followed by pedicures with Tiarra and a special dinner out to celebrate a big promotion for Cody! Way to go Code!
• New neon-y manicure
• Lady date with Emily to Nordstrom Rack and Armitage where we split a bottle of wine and some girl chat
• Lunch with Haley and Cara followed by shoe shopping for Cara's bachelorette party in Vegas!

Cody got promoted to E3, which is huge, especially since he is so young! We had a great steak dinner at Sullivan's to celebrate. I've also done a lot of gym time this week, focusing on running, and lifting weights. I'm feeling mighty energized because of it!

Level Up! Quarter century status achieved!

I turned 25! And to celebrate, I spent two days with friends doing a stay-cation at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort with girlfriends! We had a blast drinking by the pool and floating on the lazy river! After working six days in a row, it was a much needed break. It was a great group too! One of my besties from college, Sunny (see last post for her recent fitness completion!) came down from the Phoenix area to celebrate. Emily, my roommate got me the most delicious cupcakes so I got to make a birthday wish! Cara and Hayley who I know from nursing school, my friend Taylor from work, and my great friend Christina all celebrated with me! It couldn't have been a better group! Starr Pass has such great food too! Cody and I enjoyed a three hour dinner at Primo on Friday night! I always feel so blessed, but never more than on my birthday. Thank you to all my family and friends for all the well wishes and nice messages! And my parents for the beautiful flowers!

This weekend I took a course to get TNCC certified, which is Trauma Nurse Core Course. I learned a ton of useful information and received my certification today! Cody and I celebrated with dinner at Sinbad's downtown! Cody is in love.

Now that I'm in my mid-twenties, I feel like I need to get it together and start cooking more dinners. More on that next time.
